Julie
Price gained a first class honours degree
in music from Manchester University, studying
the bassoon on the joint course at the Royal
Northern College of Music with Edward Warren
and William Waterhouse. She then studied in
Geneva with Roger Birnstingl.
She was appointed Principal Bassoon with BBC
SO in 1987 and three years later joined the
Royal Opera House as Principal. The ECO appointed
her in 1994, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
in 1998 and then the BBC Symphony Orchestra
in 2001. |
| As
well as being a member of BBC SO and ECO Julie
is widely known as a soloist and a chamber musician,
performing with groups such as the Lindsay Quartet,
Nash Ensemble, Haffner Wind Ensemble, Razumovsky
Ensemble and Endymion. |
