Neil
Tarlton studied at the RCM with Adrian Beers.
On leaving the College he played for Scottish and
Welsh Operas and Northern Sinfonia. His first job
was as principal double-bass with the BBC Welsh Orchestra.
On
returning to London he joined the Philharmonia and
was a founding member of the London Double Bass Ensemble,
during the life of which he performed on
television and radio and at venues including the South
Bank and Wigmore Hall, giving many first performances
of double-bass repertoire.
